Habiba reads in Amharic and in English
Habiba reads two or three books along with her studies and during the summer she has been known to get through five weekly!
Many of the children prefer to read in Amharic in their spare time but Habiba reads in English. Her language skills are very impressive due to her love of reading.
Among Habiba’s favourites is “Journey to the River Sea” by Eva Ibbotson and series from J.K Rowling (Harry Potter of course), Sara Pemy Packer and Jacqueline Wilson.
Beyond the Orphanage have supported her talent and her interest by providing a library full of variety.
Habiba’s love of learning and reading means she has an excellent academic record. Her love of reading is something she would like to pursue and she would like to go on to University, to bigger libraries and greater challenges.
It’s inspiring to see someone dedicate time and effort to the thing they love and Beyond the Orphanage will support her every step of the way.
